History
A Legacy of Service, Unity and Commitment
The roots of the Unit can be traced back to 1962, when it was established as the Maharashtra & Goa Unit under the visionary leadership of Late Shri C. S. Dighe and Late Shri A. R. Sule. Their pioneering efforts laid the foundation for organised trade union activities for the supervisory cadre of Bank of India.
As the Bank expanded its branch network and established various Regional Offices, the organisational structure of the Association evolved in response to the growing requirements of officers. Subsequently, the Pune Unit was carved out, which was later further bifurcated with the formation of the Vidarbha Unit. These organisational developments facilitated a more focused approach towards officers’ welfare and enabled issues to be addressed effectively at the local and regional levels. Unit is affiliated to mighty “Federation of Bank of India Officers Association (FBOIOA)” and “AIBOC Maharashtra State 1”.
Presently Mumbai and Goa unit represents largest strength of officers Pan India Basis covering area of Mumbai South zone, Mumbai North Zone, Navi Mumbai Zone, Raigad Zone and Goa Zone and our Head Office.
With a legacy spanning more than six decades, the Unit has played an important role in strengthening collective representation and promoting the legitimate interests and welfare of officers. For more than six decades, the Unit has remained committed to the principles of unity, solidarity, representation and officers’ welfare. Successive generations of office-bearers and members have contributed to building a strong organisational foundation and carrying forward the legacy established by our pioneers.
The Association believes that a strong officers’ organisation is built on collective responsibility, constructive dialogue, transparency and mutual respect. We endeavour to represent the genuine concerns of officers while maintaining a constructive and meaningful relationship with the Bank.
Our endeavour is to strengthen the organisation, promote the welfare and professional interests of officers, and uphold the values of unity, dignity, justice and collective representation.
